Black and White Wednesday

Dahlia shoot ( 115-2

the long road

What an exciting week. The long road to China finally came true and Lisa and Pat have their Reagan.

And I guess because all the pictures posted of their "Gotcha moment" were taken in the very same room as the room where I first laid eyes on our first daughter, Dahlia - my mind is tripping back to November 2004 when this little darlin' made me so happy.

Dahlia's dedication picture-2

Dahlia, age 2 ( just 6 months after arriving home) in her Dedication (Baptism) dress.

And Dahlia today. I still pinch myself that I get to be her Mom!

Dahlia shoot ( 120

(These pictures, like a few that I posted earlier this week, were suppose to be shot in RAW but my camera slipped to the lowest grade of JPEG and I wasn't aware. I thought I'd have to dump the whole shoot but I just love how I captured her mood that day so I kept them and did some fiddling. )

If you haven't already popped over to Lisa's site (and I'd be surprised if anyone reading this hasn't yet) do so and catch her with baby Reagan in her arms.

Quite a sight!!!

Happy Wednesday!

You know that she's going to be such a beauty when she grows up... and you and your husband will have to be ready to chase the boys off your porch!

Wow, she is stunning! Hard to pick a favourite but I think I'll go with the first one. I like the black and white drama there.

Great photos (I wouldn't have known anything was wrong with them if you hadn't told!). She's beautiful! Isn't it exciting to see Reagan? I don't follow very many still waiting families so am thrilled to see Lisa so happy!

Oh my goodness! These pictures are FABULOUS!!!! And that is the sweetest picture of Miss Dahlia as a baby!

You did a beautiful job on you little photo shoot. I love the black and whites and I just love her expression in all of them. You have a beautiful model!!!

I may steal your idea and do a before and after pic tonight. I also saw that Donna (Double Happiness) did a post just like yours. Too Cute!

So timeless...I was already thinking that...and then I spotted the nostalgic peek back at your 2 year old darling...oh my....how quickly it goes, but how delightful each turn around the bend is!

The first one could easily grace the front of a Rock-n-Roll c.d......star power for sure!!

Your talent continues to grow and inspire me.

XOXO my friend

Oh Wanda! These are just beautiful! Beautiful! I had to say it twice!! :) I love how the arrival of another child into a families life brings out such incredible emotions and memories for all of us who have traveled this path before. It's such an amazing experience and such a blessed one too!

Wow!!! I love all of these...and it definately doesn't hurt you not to shoot in RAW cuz you do awesome and don't need the adjustment room like some of us ;) She is so gorgeous and has the most flawless skin ever! I love seeing all these Gotcha pictures!! Just makes me want to do this adventure even more...just need to get my husband on board ;)

How funny that we did exactly the same theme of post (again)! Amazing how much my brain seems to click into sync with yours! And another amazing similarity, of course, is our absolutely GORGEOUS daughters! They change so much but still look exactly like themselves. Doesn't it seem like we should be able to look at them now and see what they'll look like as grown women? My mind just can't comprehend it tho!

Have a wonderful week!

Jill....I know. I'm so torn because I think she would be great. I just don't know if I want to go down that road with her.

Thanks!!

Hi, I'm Wanda. I am a happy woman, wife to Danny for...oh....lots a years and finally Mom to THE most adorable little girl from Hunan, China - Dahlia. And now we have been blessed again with another daughter, Milana, from Zhejiang, China. (The 2 best things I've ever done!) We live in the Montreal area. After a loooonnngg wait for Dahlia's little sister Milana (pronounced - Mee-lana, like banana), we finally brought her home in August 2009. Dahlia came to us in Nov 2004 (at 20 months of age)and a year later we began the application for another baby - at the time the waiting period was around 8 months. Almost 4 years later (say what!?!)we, at last, brought Milana home. This began as the story of our journey to bring Milana home and life with her big sister, Dahlia. It now continues as we live as a family of four!
God. My (growing) family. Hangin' out with my girlies. My wonderful friends (you know who you are!). To laugh (out loud and a lot!). Music. Painting. Hugs. Long chats with my buds. My garden. To read (ha...when I can!). Sunshine. Spring, Spring and more Spring. Building things. Cooking. Decorating. Parties (ahem). The internet. Life. Movies. A.I. Dancing with the stars. So you think you can dance. Travel. Umm..did I say laughing my head off. Oh Gee...everything actually!!
