TODAY ......just my flowers......

PhSho Christine Chan (June 2011) 018 WM

Have you ever really looked at a flower?

PhSho Christine Chan (June 2011) 008 WM

No....I mean really looked!

(Ok....stop rolling your eyes....of course you have.)

PhSho Christine Chan (June 2011) 028 WM

So....is it just me who thinks a flower is just about the most amazing creation in the world (chubby babies aside). (Oh, and fluffy puppies too.)

PhSho Christine Chan (June 2011) 051WM

Like....what do you suppose God was thinking? We can't eat them......they don't clean the air or give off oxygen.....

PhSho Christine Chan (June 2011) 012

they just sit there and look gorgeous!

PhSho Christine Chan (June 2011) 005 WM

And...what's wrong with that?

Nothing. Not one thing!

PhSho Christine Chan (June 2011) 017

Ok....that's all the pontificating I have today (in my little corner of the world). Do visit all the other sites and take in all that gorgeousness.

Just because!

TODAY! " A Little Get-away!! "

Mt Tremblant week-end June 19,2011 006

When I asked Danny what he wanted for Father's Day he answered without hesitation. A crepe.

Ahhh....not just any crepe. A crepe from La Crepe Bretonne in St Sauveur. Which just happens to be about 30 minutes north, into the mountains from here. And which also happens to be (if one drives another 40 minutes)....Mt. Tremblant. And we haven't been there in forever.

So, even though the girls still have school on Monday and Dan and I both have tons of work to do......we so needed some down-time.

So....right after church on Sunday....off we went.

The girls fell asleep after crepes, cheese, bacon and yummy maple syrup, so when we arrived they dragged their sorry little bums into the lodge. They may look awake but really they're almost asleep.

Of course, they woke up pretty fast with the thought of a dip in the pool.

Mt Tremblant week-end June 19,2011 018

I was quite judicious with my camera as I forgot my extra battery and only had half juice in the one in my camera - but I managed to squeeze every drop out of it.

Mt Tremblant week-end June 19,2011 043

We just got back a little while ago, and even though we were only gone for about 28 hours - it felt like a week. A little get-away does wonders.

I'll post lots more on Wednesday.

Meanwhile, it's "Tuesday around the World" so hop on board.

These two lovelies have a truly amazing love story which made my day with them a complete joy.

The day was clear but so windy - reminded me of my wedding day. When we came out of the church, my 10 foot veil went flying almost off my head. (Of course, I think it was a plot because as we were distributing our wedding cake later, Danny stepped on it as I walked away and it indeed came off my head that time.)

"Miss Happiest-When-Airborne"

Good Friday girls 257

So....this is not exactly "Today", but today we did go to Dahlia's ballet concert rehearsal and that reminded me that I hadn't posted these pictures from our little shoot at our local mall.

Good Friday girls 256

So, as I was shooting away, Dahlia decides to take off her shoes and fly through the air. She wasn't in the mood for posing so I barely got anything worth showing but she (we) sure had fun.

I kept screaming suggesting that she slow down so I could get something, but she was too far gone for any of my silly requests.

Then she decided that 'little sis' needed some instruction in flying.

We may still need a little work.

But.....little sis DID discovery a clue as to why her big sis was able to clear such heights.

....very interesting......

TODAY! .....just this 'n that.

Good Friday girls 007 TUES.

So, I forgot to include the picture above in last week's (Easter) post....so here are the kiddos in their why can't they make big girl coats like these adorable dress coats.

I warn you, this post will be all over the place. (Just in case you thought I was...umm....scattered or somethin'.)

As we were leaving for school this morning, I usually have a firm hold on Milana's hand (cause she's a wild thang) but this morning I must have been distracted. So, as I was fumbling with the key to lock the front door I hear Dahlia shouting "runaway kid - runaway kid!"

She didn't get far but I find Dahlia's little quotes so funny. She's full of them and if I don't start posting some of them.....well.......you know the rest.

Nothin special 002
A little art project from Milana's little school.

I love the month of May (and June, definately my favs) but one of the things I like about the winter months is a tree in silouette. I love their bare bone branches and the shapes they form.

And I love the little notes I find all over the house from the first munchkin who made me a "mom".

So, I'll end with a little tease for my upcoming Wednesday's Black and White post.

TODAY - CABANE A SUCRE (Sugar Shack)

Cabane a Sucre 133-2 blog

About a week ago we ventured out on our annual 'winter swan song' where we usher in spring with a massive 'sugar high'!!!

I have many more pictures from our day and depending on how fast I can whip dinner up tonight, I may have time to add them before "Dancing with the stars" starts. We shall see.

LR PS edit3 blog

And...ahem.....speaking of dancing - THIS is Milana "gettin down"! We were just taking a little break from standing in line waiting for the go-carts to free up. Just sitting on a bench - people watching. Suddenly, Milana jumps up and starts to boogy. We were next to a speaker and Jailhouse rock was playing. She had quite a crowd watching by the time she tired of her little Elaine (from Steinfelt) impersonation.

We go at least once every spring and this year we choose a different place. Only about a 20 minute drive from here and we were expecting about the same kind of experience. A few hundred people, some farm animals, the requisite syrup in the snow fest, the pig out, of course and maybe a sleigh ride.

We weren't ready for this place. We had to park about a mile from the main area and take a shuttle bus (some with wheels, some with horses). It took about a half hour just to get in. Another half hour to wait in line and finally we were able to sit down. Hoards of people everywhere. Lots of rides, train rides through the woods, horse rides, animals and lots more. When we left we asked how many people come through in a day. Answer: 13,000 people on that day. (WHAT??) Did I mention this was a sugar shack, not Disney.

While we were taking the train ride through the maple tree woods, we heard some hooping and hollering. We were being ambushed by some wild cowgirls, swinging their pistols. That added some excitment to the train ride for the kiddies.

Hi, I'm Wanda. I am a happy woman, wife to Danny for...oh....lots a years and finally Mom to THE most adorable little girl from Hunan, China - Dahlia. And now we have been blessed again with another daughter, Milana, from Zhejiang, China. (The 2 best things I've ever done!) We live in the Montreal area. After a loooonnngg wait for Dahlia's little sister Milana (pronounced - Mee-lana, like banana), we finally brought her home in August 2009. Dahlia came to us in Nov 2004 (at 20 months of age)and a year later we began the application for another baby - at the time the waiting period was around 8 months. Almost 4 years later (say what!?!)we, at last, brought Milana home. This began as the story of our journey to bring Milana home and life with her big sister, Dahlia. It now continues as we live as a family of four!
God. My (growing) family. Hangin' out with my girlies. My wonderful friends (you know who you are!). To laugh (out loud and a lot!). Music. Painting. Hugs. Long chats with my buds. My garden. To read (ha...when I can!). Sunshine. Spring, Spring and more Spring. Building things. Cooking. Decorating. Parties (ahem). The internet. Life. Movies. A.I. Dancing with the stars. So you think you can dance. Travel. Umm..did I say laughing my head off. Oh Gee...everything actually!!
