Black and White Wednesday - " A Model Shoot "

PhSho UPM #2 June 2011 405 WM

Are you looking for my kids?

Nope, narry a kid to be found.

A while back I joined a few Photography Associations here in Montreal - and I'm always reading about all the fun shoots they go to but never got to one yet.

Till last Sunday.

It was suppose to be at this beautiful park but at the last minute the venue changed because rain was threatening. So about 25 photographers (United Photographer of Montreal ) met under the Jacques Cartier bridge (it's pretty big) and the models showed up. The urban setting was actually more in keeping with the style of the models anyway so nothing was lost.

And everybody brought yummy food. Someone made tandori salmon (oh mama that was good!!) and home made wine and plenty of good stuff.

After about 4 hours of shooting I had used up both cards (8Gbites each) so it was time to stop for me.

Take a look at some beautiful photography at Lisa's site today.

Of course, the best part of the day was seeing our car drive up at the end of the day, window rolled down and 2 little munchkin voices screaming...."MAMA MAMA!"

Yeah....it was a pretty cool day!

Hope your week is halfway to perfect.

Black and White Wednesday " More Get-away "

Mt Tremblant week-end June 19,2011 019-2 WM

(yes.....this is little Miss Coquette and her backward glance pose.)

I did say I'd post more pictures from our tiny trip to Tremblant but be warned. There are a lot of them. (Sorry....couldn't help it!)

It's funny but even though we were only gone one night - it made such a difference. Really, it felt like we'd been gone for a week. We really need to do this more often - we get in such a rut of schedules and rushing. It's so nice to just chill and "be"! Instead of do, do, do!

Family edit4

Like sip a little wine together on the balcony and watch the sunset while the kiddos were in dreamland. Getting away gives you permission to do that. At home - I'd get ansy thinking about all the things I had to do.

Family edit5

Chase the kiddos around.

I can't get enough of all the different shapes and colors in the architecture.

We took the gondola up the mountain - which seemed like we were headed for the top of the world. Wow....it's high.

And you can't beat that view.

This is the very top. We can't even see the village from up here - we're so high.

TODAY! " A Little Get-away!! "

Mt Tremblant week-end June 19,2011 006

When I asked Danny what he wanted for Father's Day he answered without hesitation. A crepe.

Ahhh....not just any crepe. A crepe from La Crepe Bretonne in St Sauveur. Which just happens to be about 30 minutes north, into the mountains from here. And which also happens to be (if one drives another 40 minutes)....Mt. Tremblant. And we haven't been there in forever.

Mt Tremblant week-end June 19,2011 011

So, even though the girls still have school on Monday and Dan and I both have tons of work to do......we so needed some down-time.

So....right after church on Sunday....off we went.

The girls fell asleep after crepes, cheese, bacon and yummy maple syrup, so when we arrived they dragged their sorry little bums into the lodge. They may look awake but really they're almost asleep.

Of course, they woke up pretty fast with the thought of a dip in the pool.

Mt Tremblant week-end June 19,2011 018

I was quite judicious with my camera as I forgot my extra battery and only had half juice in the one in my camera - but I managed to squeeze every drop out of it.

We just got back a little while ago, and even though we were only gone for about 28 hours - it felt like a week. A little get-away does wonders.

I'll post lots more on Wednesday.

Meanwhile, it's "Tuesday around the World" so hop on board.

I thought I would convert some of the pictures I posted in color yesterday. They look so "old world" to me in black and white.

Hi, I'm Wanda. I am a happy woman, wife to Danny for...oh....lots a years and finally Mom to THE most adorable little girl from Hunan, China - Dahlia. And now we have been blessed again with another daughter, Milana, from Zhejiang, China. (The 2 best things I've ever done!) We live in the Montreal area. After a loooonnngg wait for Dahlia's little sister Milana (pronounced - Mee-lana, like banana), we finally brought her home in August 2009. Dahlia came to us in Nov 2004 (at 20 months of age)and a year later we began the application for another baby - at the time the waiting period was around 8 months. Almost 4 years later (say what!?!)we, at last, brought Milana home. This began as the story of our journey to bring Milana home and life with her big sister, Dahlia. It now continues as we live as a family of four!
God. My (growing) family. Hangin' out with my girlies. My wonderful friends (you know who you are!). To laugh (out loud and a lot!). Music. Painting. Hugs. Long chats with my buds. My garden. To read (ha...when I can!). Sunshine. Spring, Spring and more Spring. Building things. Cooking. Decorating. Parties (ahem). The internet. Life. Movies. A.I. Dancing with the stars. So you think you can dance. Travel. Umm..did I say laughing my head off. Oh Gee...everything actually!!
