Black and White Wednesday - "Ta Da !! "

I did the dreaded deed today.

No....not that one (??!? Huh, what's that? Well.....what were you thinking?!).

;-)
Yes, I set up the camera in front of a mirror and took a mug shot.

Profile pics #2 041

I need to print up some business cards and flyers so I needed a picture that sort of tells the tale.

I used a big silver reflector and sat under our big sky light in my loft and other than some minor touch-ups (usually I have to really work it) this was almost SOOC.
(Forget diamonds....reflectors are a girls best friend! )

I'm showing my camera and paint and brush in this profile picture so all my bases are covered.
(My apron and scullery maid gloves are hidden. haha)

OK.....so enough about me.... here are some shots I took from the inside of my car as I was driving (shhhhh....) downtown last Friday.

I had to circle 3 times waiting for a red light to get this one of the Chinese gate. It was green all 3 times so I got this on the fly.

This little trip really gave me a taste to get out more and explore this city. I can't wait for spring when me and my Nikes will become one.

So, I'll end with a color version of the aforementioned "mug shot".

I think I like the black and white better.

You?

Happy Wednesday to you!

Gorgeous Wanda!!! I'm not sure if I like the b&w or color self portrait. They're both beautiful. Makes me want to give it a try...somehow I don't think mine will turn out so well. I guess I would need to put on some makeup and "do" my hair. On second thought...maybe I won't. ;-)

I love the shots you captured of your home town. I really want to come up for a visit at some point in time. It would have to be in summer...could never handle the cold in your neck of the woods.

Happy Wednesday to you!!!

Hugs...
Grace

You are so beautiful! What a really lovely self portrait, mine never turn out quite like that, they tend to actually resemble mug shots.:)

The black and white is GORGEOUS - I need to get a reflector...For real!

I'm telling you - the bags under my eyes almost disappeared with that big silver reflector pointing up, right under my chin. I only got a couple hours of sleep the night before and it really showed so....uh-huh....that reflector is my new BFF.

You are so beautiful...and what a fun image for sure. I too love it is black and white or color. The images of town makes me want to travel...we definately do not have fun buildings like that around here.

I have to say the color photo is great. Something about the rich shadows of the background, and the highlight next to your right arm . Wonderful!

Oh Wanda, of course I did self timer up on that roof. Do you think any one else would be that crazy to get up there? Ha! :) It had to get done. I was starting to get water coming in from behind the gutter. I do everything! I am not afraid of hard work. That came from my Dad. But believe me, if he were here he would have been upset that I went up there. So self timer came through for this mommy blogger again. I just set it and placed it on my mitten on the roof. ha! Really professional work. Have a great night my friend! Those party pictures below are just beautiful! Talented! Thank you for your kind words about my Dad. I really miss him more than I could ever say!

Oh and the last picture of me should probably be taken out. I have a lot of stuff like keys, gloves, papers, etc. stuffed in my pockets and it is not so flattering. I thought, hey I am up on this roof in freezing weather with my camera hanging off of a ladder. I will put all the pictures because of effort. Ha! :) I hope you are doing well my friend!

Well, you ALMOST captured how STUNNINGLY GORGEOUS you are for the masses but luckily they don't see you in person...where that electric personality, scintillating smile and melodious voice just leaves one feeling....well, completely mesmerized. I should know....I was first captivated by your ridiculously amazing HOLLYWOOD Glamor look and then your God Given artistic talent only to smacked by your infamous pipes and then blown away by your incredibly photography....that's not a one-two punch....its a complete KNOCKOUT!

I am PUTTY in your hands!
(Sorry it took me a lifetime to comment...I had to pull myself up off the floor after seeing that unmistakeably WANDA picture...and it took time...I'm getting old!

I love you to BITS I tell ya....BITS!

Hi, I'm Wanda. I am a happy woman, wife to Danny for...oh....lots a years and finally Mom to THE most adorable little girl from Hunan, China - Dahlia. And now we have been blessed again with another daughter, Milana, from Zhejiang, China. (The 2 best things I've ever done!) We live in the Montreal area. After a loooonnngg wait for Dahlia's little sister Milana (pronounced - Mee-lana, like banana), we finally brought her home in August 2009. Dahlia came to us in Nov 2004 (at 20 months of age)and a year later we began the application for another baby - at the time the waiting period was around 8 months. Almost 4 years later (say what!?!)we, at last, brought Milana home. This began as the story of our journey to bring Milana home and life with her big sister, Dahlia. It now continues as we live as a family of four!
God. My (growing) family. Hangin' out with my girlies. My wonderful friends (you know who you are!). To laugh (out loud and a lot!). Music. Painting. Hugs. Long chats with my buds. My garden. To read (ha...when I can!). Sunshine. Spring, Spring and more Spring. Building things. Cooking. Decorating. Parties (ahem). The internet. Life. Movies. A.I. Dancing with the stars. So you think you can dance. Travel. Umm..did I say laughing my head off. Oh Gee...everything actually!!
