Black and White Wednesday - "Milana's face time"

Milana's turn 043-3

It seems like ages since Milana had a turn here. So today's the day.

Milana's turn 010
Milana has made some huge strides in the past 6 months. She continues to be a happy little girl but has really blossomed socially. Where she used to cling to my leg (like a velcro kid), she now is the belle of the ball. Whenever she sees someone she knows or even a new person when we're nearby - her HI and BYE cannot be missed. She lights up like a lightbulb, is loud and in your face and so funny.

Milana's turn 042

Milana's turn 028
At school - she seems to be the center of attention. Everyone is crazy about her. She will not be ignored. In Sunday school she's been known to jump in a few laps without notice and almost always a male lap. (She definately likes the men - oh boy....we're in trouble. Can you say "flirt"?)

Milana's turn 018

Milana's turn 058-2

Milana's turn 017-2
And very musical. She comes home from school humming Strauss waltzes (I'm not kidding). In fact - she's always singing or babbling. She has her own language and seems to have very little use for English or French but for a few words. Yet there is constant communication.

Milana's turn 037

Milana's turn 014
At the end of the service at church when I'm turning off my keyboard and packing up, Milana jumps up on the drum seat (and sometimes the drummers lap if he's still there) and starts drumming. And she's got rhythm. I have to bring my video camera and capture it - she's really something else.

Milana's turn 006
This little monkey has charm to spare.

(It's black and white Wednesday - check out some great photography.)

Oh...and...ahem....had to throw in one of Dahlia from her b-day party the other day. She has make-up on but I'm a bit stunned that she looks 8 going on 18. Yikes - what have I done?

Yes, Milana's eyes are, indeed, captivating. When I hear that she is blossoming it must warms my heart. I believe Milana will do all things in HER time and that charm of hers will get her out of lots of jams in life...not to mention those eyes!

She is growing up but when I look at those scrumptous hands and arms I am smiling because she still has a hint of baby chub left. Take a bite for me tomorrow, wouldja?

Dahlia.....well, you're up a creek baby....that girl can WORK it!

Finally....your new blog design is SUPERCALIFRAGILISTICEXBEALIDOCIOUS! I am loving every single detail! Congratulations on this new chapter!

Amazing eyes, the first shot is just porcelain gorgeous. Nice site makeover too.

And you are so right... Dahlia looks so mature in that makeup with her little girl body she reminds me of that Anne Rice vampire character who grew older but whose body remained that of the child she was when she changed from human... eerily gorgeous! :)

Anyways, you are quite the photographer.

Wanda!!!! What a delightful post! Your Milana is blossoming and isn't it wonderful to witness?! How blessed we are with our girls. I am so happy for you.

Btw, Happy belated birthday to miss Dahlia! 8 years!!!! Hugs Wanda, I know how these years are so transitional. We want to hold them like they are our babies forever. And of course we will. As I tell my girls, "you will always be Mama's babies, even when you are 80!". We just have to think of new ways to scoop them in:)

Now I must say, HOW GORGEOUS is your blog?!!!!!!!! I LOVE LOVE LOVE the new look. Ok, I adored the old look too, but I love changing my blog, so I know what a makeover does to the spirit every now and then! I LOVE it! Did I mention that?!!!!

She is stunningly beautiful and what a pretty smile! It truly is amazing to watch their personalities come out. We've seen it twice but our youngest is the one that has changed the most.

Lady Wanda,

Everything you touch is infused with beauty, the new blog (fab), your amazing young ladies (both so beautiful).

I'm so happy Mlana is finding her self confidance and voice. My girl was slow to come out of her brother's shadow, but sometimes the loveliest flowers are the slowest to bloom.

I think the party idea is terrific and so creative.

I treat your blog like a buffet, when I come I fill up on everything and then go back for seconds.

Delicious and low in calories, but fills the soul.

Love Valerie

yep, those eyes - WOW!

She sounds exactly like my Tia. former velcro baby - man/boy lover (even my 14 year olds friends get wooed!) needs to be the center of attention and the universe - and she sings!! okay maybe our girls were born for the show?? Milana is gorgeous and I'm pretty sure she knows it :)

Love all these photos!

Hi, I'm Wanda. I am a happy woman, wife to Danny for...oh....lots a years and finally Mom to THE most adorable little girl from Hunan, China - Dahlia. And now we have been blessed again with another daughter, Milana, from Zhejiang, China. (The 2 best things I've ever done!) We live in the Montreal area. After a loooonnngg wait for Dahlia's little sister Milana (pronounced - Mee-lana, like banana), we finally brought her home in August 2009. Dahlia came to us in Nov 2004 (at 20 months of age)and a year later we began the application for another baby - at the time the waiting period was around 8 months. Almost 4 years later (say what!?!)we, at last, brought Milana home. This began as the story of our journey to bring Milana home and life with her big sister, Dahlia. It now continues as we live as a family of four!
God. My (growing) family. Hangin' out with my girlies. My wonderful friends (you know who you are!). To laugh (out loud and a lot!). Music. Painting. Hugs. Long chats with my buds. My garden. To read (ha...when I can!). Sunshine. Spring, Spring and more Spring. Building things. Cooking. Decorating. Parties (ahem). The internet. Life. Movies. A.I. Dancing with the stars. So you think you can dance. Travel. Umm..did I say laughing my head off. Oh Gee...everything actually!!
