TODAY! "Snaps of my big Girl's day out with Mom"

Downtown with Dahlia 103

Lunch - downtown Montreal with my Big Girl.

So.....I ordered a Caesar Salad and offered "a bite" to Dahlia. Never wanting to try something new she resisted....and then gave in.

I didn't get my salad back. She loved it.

Downtown with Dahlia 109
Yes, I sacrificed my longing for those croutons and creamy dressing. I'm a Mother. I ate yesterday, right? (wink, wink)

This......

....was what she had ordered.

She shared a bit with me while diving into her fries. (Wha'...? You don't order fries with your tortellini in your corner of the world?)

Pity!

Then it was on to bigger and better things.

Oh my!

We'll take....ummm....one of everything please!

Oooooo.........it was a good day!

That's my little corner of the world.

Such a lovely time! The pictures are beautiful! I just did the Blogger2Print book for my first part of blogging and it is a super journal for my daughter when she gets older. You should do it! It immedately creates a book out of your blog! A really special keepsake! Have a great night!

I am ridiculously drawn with delight to your little slice of life and corner of the world!!!

How tickled I am that you had another fabulous day out with your "big girl" despite having to sacrifice that salad! :) Oh the things we Mamas do!! LOL I hope the chocolate helped ease the pain! ;)

Lovely ( and chic!) photos of your lovely love!!!

Isn't it great going on 'dates' with our kids? More of these coming up for sure!

Tortellini is the pasta of choice for J, too.

Those houses with the steps --I don't know what you call those, --remind me of the B&B we stayed at in St. Denis when were in Montreal. =)

Bmama - those steps are very typical of Montreal. This was Crescent Street not too far from St. Denis - but they're all over here. Same type of actual structure as you might find in NYC but there - the stairs on inside of the front door. I must do a little sleuthing to find out why this is so here.

Btw. when you come back to Montreal - you call me first.....'k?

I'll definitely let you know if I ever head out to Montreal again. The last time I was there, I was there with a good friend from high school who was getting his MBA at McGill.

Beautiful photos Wanda!!!

What fun you both must have had. I really need to do this with my daughter soon. I love the fact that Dahlia finally tried your salad and "loved" it. My girl would have turned her face at it, like she does with most new foods I try to have her taste. Now if she was in that chocolatier, she would have tried every single item that was for sale. :-)

Guess who I'm going to see this weekend... I can't wait!

Hugs,
Grace

What a great Mommy & Me day! And how great that she enjoys trying new things. I hope you didn't tell her about the anchovies though! When Dita told me that, it almost ruined Caesar Salads for me....almost!

Hi, I'm Wanda. I am a happy woman, wife to Danny for...oh....lots a years and finally Mom to THE most adorable little girl from Hunan, China - Dahlia. And now we have been blessed again with another daughter, Milana, from Zhejiang, China. (The 2 best things I've ever done!) We live in the Montreal area. After a loooonnngg wait for Dahlia's little sister Milana (pronounced - Mee-lana, like banana), we finally brought her home in August 2009. Dahlia came to us in Nov 2004 (at 20 months of age)and a year later we began the application for another baby - at the time the waiting period was around 8 months. Almost 4 years later (say what!?!)we, at last, brought Milana home. This began as the story of our journey to bring Milana home and life with her big sister, Dahlia. It now continues as we live as a family of four!
God. My (growing) family. Hangin' out with my girlies. My wonderful friends (you know who you are!). To laugh (out loud and a lot!). Music. Painting. Hugs. Long chats with my buds. My garden. To read (ha...when I can!). Sunshine. Spring, Spring and more Spring. Building things. Cooking. Decorating. Parties (ahem). The internet. Life. Movies. A.I. Dancing with the stars. So you think you can dance. Travel. Umm..did I say laughing my head off. Oh Gee...everything actually!!
