Macro Friday - solo beauty

Dita and Darlings visit 229

During our little jaunt to our local park with Dita and Darlings
last week-end, we popped into one of the greenhouses where the humidity and heat from the tropical area immediately steamed up our camera lenses. I waited a good few minutes for the fog to clear but when it didn't, and I spied this stalwart soldier, begging to be captured on film (sounds great but we can't really say that anymore, can we?). Where was I? Oh yes,....so I grabbed my scarf (yikes) and wiped away the fog and snapped away. It was dark so I really upped my ISO but I still liked what I got.

Every Friday when I visit my bloggy friend from Hong Kong, Buckeroomama - I admire her macro photography. So I thought I would join her and many others in this blog hop.

I sometimes pine a little for a real macro lens like the Nikon 105mm f2.8 VR Micro (hint, hint Santa). I often paint flowers in my paintings and am fascinated by the tiny details in them. My lenses do ok for now but I'd love a macro one day.

Stop by Blogging from Bolivia for more macro shots all week-end.

And I hope you find some flowers in your week-end too!

I can still hear my gasp when I saw you do that with your scarf! Nice shot given the fog and the lack of light in there!! VERY nice!

I have so many photos from our little jaunt last weekend (500 to be exact!) that I am still editing but my post on our FABULOUS weekend will be up soon....VERY soon!

The only bad part about our weekend is that its OVER!

Miss you!

Hi, I'm Wanda. I am a happy woman, wife to Danny for...oh....lots a years and finally Mom to THE most adorable little girl from Hunan, China - Dahlia. And now we have been blessed again with another daughter, Milana, from Zhejiang, China. (The 2 best things I've ever done!) We live in the Montreal area. After a loooonnngg wait for Dahlia's little sister Milana (pronounced - Mee-lana, like banana), we finally brought her home in August 2009. Dahlia came to us in Nov 2004 (at 20 months of age)and a year later we began the application for another baby - at the time the waiting period was around 8 months. Almost 4 years later (say what!?!)we, at last, brought Milana home. This began as the story of our journey to bring Milana home and life with her big sister, Dahlia. It now continues as we live as a family of four!
God. My (growing) family. Hangin' out with my girlies. My wonderful friends (you know who you are!). To laugh (out loud and a lot!). Music. Painting. Hugs. Long chats with my buds. My garden. To read (ha...when I can!). Sunshine. Spring, Spring and more Spring. Building things. Cooking. Decorating. Parties (ahem). The internet. Life. Movies. A.I. Dancing with the stars. So you think you can dance. Travel. Umm..did I say laughing my head off. Oh Gee...everything actually!!
