Black and White Wednesday

Milana's B-day - Santa Parade 008-3

So, Sweet Thing is officially three years old and we did not have a big shin-dig (for a change).
We'll be doing the princess/fairy thing a bit later.

We kept it simple.
And honestly?

I loved it!

I actually got to watch and take some pics and just chill and I could definately get used to that. (Feel free to remind me that I said that. A-hem.)

Milana's B-day - Santa Parade 004

We had a tiny chocolate cake, so Sissy got to carry it in by herself. I love the concentration on her face.

I think simple celebrations are just the perfect kind. I haven't had any big extravaganza type parties for Liam as of yet. I say yet because I believe this next birthday is going to be somewhat big... it's going to take place at a local firehouse. :-)

Your little princess is so adorable. That last photo is priceless. Such joy you captured!

Hope you're having a great week. I'm getting ready for the long day of preparing for Thanksgiving dinner tomorrow. I'm hosting....it's only 8 am and I'm already tired. ;-)

Hugs,
Grace

She is so beautiful Wanda! I love your simple celebration. Sometimes we need simple. Life gets so crazy and overwhelming that we just need a place of calm!

Will tomorrow be a special day for you in Canada? I think you already celebrated Thanksgiving? Well, even if it is a regular Thursday, I hope your day is special and wonderful.

Like you : )

Happy Birthday to your beautiful girl! Love them all, but especially the first one and last!!!

Simple is good. Will's birthday is Christmas day and we're celebrating it tomorrow on Thanksgiving when we'll be at my mother's home for the day. My entire family will be there. Which reminds me, I need to go pick up his cake in a little while.

Enjoy your week my friend!

Ya know, sometimes simple and sweet really IS best!

And the look of pure joy on her darling (darling!!!!) face captures all that is blessed and right about keeping it that way!

Your daughters are simply beautiful! I am so glad that I found your blog, it looks fascinating and I really look forward to taking some time to enjoy it and learn a bit more about your adoption journey. I can't get enough of that! My husband and I have adopted one little boy and are starting a new process now, so I love reading other people's experiences!:)
Have a great day!

Sheer perfection! I think Milana has grown since I saw her last month....(not to mention Dahlia in that photo with Santa looks like her legs go on for miles!)

We do SMALL, very small shindigs for Birthdays and I just love it that way...we really get to celebrate THEM and not stress over the guests and the parties...good old coffee and cake...what's better than that!?

OK, now, I have one small problem....Mama....YOU BROKE RANKS....What have you DONE? That shirt Milana is wearing has (1) no black in it, (2) no GREY in it and (3) no pink in it.

Who are you and what have you done with Wanda?

Hi, I'm Wanda. I am a happy woman, wife to Danny for...oh....lots a years and finally Mom to THE most adorable little girl from Hunan, China - Dahlia. And now we have been blessed again with another daughter, Milana, from Zhejiang, China. (The 2 best things I've ever done!) We live in the Montreal area. After a loooonnngg wait for Dahlia's little sister Milana (pronounced - Mee-lana, like banana), we finally brought her home in August 2009. Dahlia came to us in Nov 2004 (at 20 months of age)and a year later we began the application for another baby - at the time the waiting period was around 8 months. Almost 4 years later (say what!?!)we, at last, brought Milana home. This began as the story of our journey to bring Milana home and life with her big sister, Dahlia. It now continues as we live as a family of four!
God. My (growing) family. Hangin' out with my girlies. My wonderful friends (you know who you are!). To laugh (out loud and a lot!). Music. Painting. Hugs. Long chats with my buds. My garden. To read (ha...when I can!). Sunshine. Spring, Spring and more Spring. Building things. Cooking. Decorating. Parties (ahem). The internet. Life. Movies. A.I. Dancing with the stars. So you think you can dance. Travel. Umm..did I say laughing my head off. Oh Gee...everything actually!!
