" High on Happy !! "

A few weeks ago when Dahlia realized she had a ped. day off from school this Friday, she asked me if we could do something special "just the two of us".

Always up for "something special" with my girl, I said "sure, babe, what would you like to do?"

"Mom, can we go to the Museum Art Gallery?"

To which I replied: in my head.

("thank you Lord!!...huh...did I just hear what I heard?")

but audibly

"Ummm.....sure sweetie, why do you want to go to the art gallery?"

Dahlia: "I really want to learn how to be an artist"

Me to self: Ok, I've just died and gone to heaven.

bye-bye!

So, that's what we did. Dahlia could hardly sleep all week - waiting for our "girls day downtown" and the only one more excited than she, was

me!!!

I can hardly even put into words how I felt on Friday. I loved everything about our day together and probably will be posting about for awhile (so brace yourselves - fair warned).

I asked Dahlia which was her favorite painting and she immediately picked this one.

Next trip - we'll hit Monet to Picaso.
( I may not sleep til then.)

What a wonderful way to spend the day. I LOVE going to art museums. Unfortunately, we don't have any really good ones where we live. I would love to go to the Met with my family the next time we visit NY. It's such a fabulous way to spend a day. Looking forward to all the future posts.

That is so great!! I can only imagine how excited you must have been when she said "art museum" That must have made you so proud!

One on one time with the kids is such a good thing for them and for us...... when Reagan comes home, I am going to make a real effort to do more of that with each of them. Still can't believe there is going to be THREE soon!!

Have a wonderful week Wanda~

Oh that would make my day too!!! (By the way, in the tub tonight, little Ree said "Mama, I know what I want to be when I grow up -- a person who paints nails, so I could do any kind of design I wanted to!" And I tried oh-so-tactfully to tell her that she could be an artist instead and create any kind of art she wanted!! Oh man...)

Hi, I'm Wanda. I am a happy woman, wife to Danny for...oh....lots a years and finally Mom to THE most adorable little girl from Hunan, China - Dahlia. And now we have been blessed again with another daughter, Milana, from Zhejiang, China. (The 2 best things I've ever done!) We live in the Montreal area. After a loooonnngg wait for Dahlia's little sister Milana (pronounced - Mee-lana, like banana), we finally brought her home in August 2009. Dahlia came to us in Nov 2004 (at 20 months of age)and a year later we began the application for another baby - at the time the waiting period was around 8 months. Almost 4 years later (say what!?!)we, at last, brought Milana home. This began as the story of our journey to bring Milana home and life with her big sister, Dahlia. It now continues as we live as a family of four!
God. My (growing) family. Hangin' out with my girlies. My wonderful friends (you know who you are!). To laugh (out loud and a lot!). Music. Painting. Hugs. Long chats with my buds. My garden. To read (ha...when I can!). Sunshine. Spring, Spring and more Spring. Building things. Cooking. Decorating. Parties (ahem). The internet. Life. Movies. A.I. Dancing with the stars. So you think you can dance. Travel. Umm..did I say laughing my head off. Oh Gee...everything actually!!
