Black and White Wednesday - "Woo hoo...Grade two!"

...well, for me....it was a bit of boo hoo too!

It just makes me a bit sad that my little girl is growing up so fast. And when I look at the pictures from years past, well, it kind of blows my mind.

I love that backpack! But it looks like it weighs a TON! Where did the time go? How is it possible we have kids in 1st and 2nd grade? How the heck do we slow the clock down!?

.....sigh.

Oh Wanda... say it isn't so! How in the world did this happen? Our girls are getting so big! I can really see a big difference in one year with Dahlia. Don't even get me started with your little one. She has grown a ton too!

Love these pictures. Your kids are simply divine. I too love the backpack. Isn't it crazy how those darn things are just about the same size as our kids. I'm just waiting for one of them to tip over backwards from the weight. ;-)

Hope you have a wonderful Wednesday!

Hugs...
Grace

They grow up way too fast! Beautiful shots of a very important day. So much happens during a year and she looks very grown up. My oldest started 1st grade this year and I can't believe it!

*sigh* They all grow up so fast, don't they? That Dahlia's really stylish with her matching backpack and lunch bag! I wonder if Mommy had a hand in choosing them...? ;p

I can't believe it either Wanda...where has the time gone? They were so recently our baby girls.

What a gorgeous smile she has, I hope her day was wonderful. Awesome backpack btw!!!

Miss Grace starts today...(sigh). She's still asleep. Backpack is ready, clothes are out and lunch packed. The start of a new school year.

Happy Wednesday my friend and big hugs...

First day back at school always seems to be a big tear-jerker for all the moms out there :) But no wonder! Same steps, same doorway, but Dahlia & Milana has grown a ton in one year!! It's amazing and beautiful! Sad because they do grow up too fast, but wonderful because every new stage brings its own blessings. You'll be ok, Momma ;o)

Wanda you read my mind! I would love for my daughter to stay little a bit. It just goes by so fast. I think we notice time going so quickly as we get older because we see it as our children grow. These picture sare beautiful! Look at your babies in 2009. They grow so fast. Hold on to the moments my friend and enjoy them as much as you can! I hope you are doing great!

Thank you for your kind words about my back. I actually have pain in my entire spine and my knees. It has been really bad lately and I try so hard to act like there is nothing there. Poeple that meet me would never know how much pain I am in. But I guess it is part of my life challenge and I try to stay positive. Thank you!

Oh it IS hard...but your lovely D had the same confident and eager gleam in her eyes as my L did.....so hard to so smile through those *sighs* just to see their obvious readiness and joy!!

Yay for darling M too....big steps for such a teeny little one, but by golly she looks ready too!!! Extra little hugs never do hurt one bit though....at least that's my motto!!!

I hope both of your beauties have amazing school years ahead AND others have said it BUT I'm loving in D's backpack/lunch ensemble......wait till I show L!!!

XOXO

Wow...what a difference a year makes. She really has changed, hasn't she! I think the same thing when I look at my kids pictures. It's sad and yet I know it has to happen.

Loved looking at these...like a little walk down memory lane!

I actually rememeber that little ballet pose from last year's first grade day. Crazy how fast a year comes and goes. Love the memory lane photo montage. Sweet. What the heck does she have in that backpack?....it's HUGE.

You too huh? I happened to see a photo of when we moved into this house. Wow. She looked so much younger with still some chub on her face. Having kids shows us how time goes by quickly. They are a reminder to always keep them close to us before they'll leave us for their own lives. :(

Hi, I'm Wanda. I am a happy woman, wife to Danny for...oh....lots a years and finally Mom to THE most adorable little girl from Hunan, China - Dahlia. And now we have been blessed again with another daughter, Milana, from Zhejiang, China. (The 2 best things I've ever done!) We live in the Montreal area. After a loooonnngg wait for Dahlia's little sister Milana (pronounced - Mee-lana, like banana), we finally brought her home in August 2009. Dahlia came to us in Nov 2004 (at 20 months of age)and a year later we began the application for another baby - at the time the waiting period was around 8 months. Almost 4 years later (say what!?!)we, at last, brought Milana home. This began as the story of our journey to bring Milana home and life with her big sister, Dahlia. It now continues as we live as a family of four!
God. My (growing) family. Hangin' out with my girlies. My wonderful friends (you know who you are!). To laugh (out loud and a lot!). Music. Painting. Hugs. Long chats with my buds. My garden. To read (ha...when I can!). Sunshine. Spring, Spring and more Spring. Building things. Cooking. Decorating. Parties (ahem). The internet. Life. Movies. A.I. Dancing with the stars. So you think you can dance. Travel. Umm..did I say laughing my head off. Oh Gee...everything actually!!
