Black and White Wednesday - "Milana's First Apple Picking"

test and apples 159-2

One of the great things about being a parent is all the "firsts".
And even though we're adoptive parents and missed a few of the really big moments like birth and first step and first word, I am very grateful that we get to enjoy so many other firsts.

Last week Milana's little school had a field trip to an apple orchard and I got to tag along.

And watch Miss Wild Thang take in all the sights and smells and tastes.
I tried to capture of few of those moments when she wasn't darting off or tripping over the fallen apples. We did manage to fill our two bags.

It's black and white Wednesday....

Milana is changing so fast we can hardly keep up. (And...ummm....somebody tell her mother to cut those bangs, will ya?)

She is such a happy, interested little thing, just dying to grab hold of life (and anything else she can grab) and really take a ride!

And we, of course, are her happy drivers, just trying to keep our balance!

Beautiful shots! I really love the last one of her taking that big bite. I agree that the little ones change so quickly it's hard to keep up.

She is so adorable! How do you control yourself? I think I would starting eating on her instead of the apples! Love the pictures of you and Milana. I don't get very many of those types of pics. I'm always the one behind the camera. I really need to work on that one.

Happy Wednesday Wanda!

Hugs,
Grace

This is so, so true... the firsts we experience are such more numerous than the ones we miss. And those few we miss? They remind us to cherish and savor the ones we have - like apple picking!

You really gotta love a little girl who just savors each experience. :)

She is growing up fast, Wanda... and such a cutie! :)

LOVE the one of the 2 of you together! 2 beautiful ladies. :)

Well you have a miss Wild Thang and I have a mr. Wild Thang as in William. His class had a field trip to an apple orchard last Friday that I went on and he was all over the place. He's an apple lover.

Lovely shots my friend. Hope you're having an awesome week!

Fun! The only apple orchard here that sells apples already has them picked and bagged, so you arrive at the orchard and pick your bag!!!!! LOL I'm sure picking them from trees is a lot more fun :)

Ah, what fun! And I love that you're in one of the shots. I keep saying I'm going to get in front of the camera more, and then, well, um... Maybe this week! :-)

Good for you to get yourself in the shot. That always seems to be the hardest thing to do. I should make that a goal for October. Makes me so happy to see children out at the orchard, picking apples and getting fresh air and rosy cheeks - even if they aren't mine.

Hi, I'm Wanda. I am a happy woman, wife to Danny for...oh....lots a years and finally Mom to THE most adorable little girl from Hunan, China - Dahlia. And now we have been blessed again with another daughter, Milana, from Zhejiang, China. (The 2 best things I've ever done!) We live in the Montreal area. After a loooonnngg wait for Dahlia's little sister Milana (pronounced - Mee-lana, like banana), we finally brought her home in August 2009. Dahlia came to us in Nov 2004 (at 20 months of age)and a year later we began the application for another baby - at the time the waiting period was around 8 months. Almost 4 years later (say what!?!)we, at last, brought Milana home. This began as the story of our journey to bring Milana home and life with her big sister, Dahlia. It now continues as we live as a family of four!
God. My (growing) family. Hangin' out with my girlies. My wonderful friends (you know who you are!). To laugh (out loud and a lot!). Music. Painting. Hugs. Long chats with my buds. My garden. To read (ha...when I can!). Sunshine. Spring, Spring and more Spring. Building things. Cooking. Decorating. Parties (ahem). The internet. Life. Movies. A.I. Dancing with the stars. So you think you can dance. Travel. Umm..did I say laughing my head off. Oh Gee...everything actually!!
