Black and White Wednesday

A new challenge - I love it!

My new friend and mentor, Lisa at The Long Road to China, has invited all who are so inclined to participate in Black and White photography. I've never really worked with black and white, probably because so much of my decor and closet is black and white so I need a little color.
But I love a challenge and am so enthused to learn all I can about this new world of photography - so here I go.

This photo of Dahlia may not be technically correct but I can't get enough of that face, so what better place to start. (When I can get Milana to sit still for a second, I may try and grab one of her....hmmmm....maybe in ten years - lol.)
We went up north on the week-end and it was such a grey day, most of my pictures were almost in black and white naturally. I just increased the blacks. This is St. Sauveur mountain. (Tiny by comparison but very pretty.)
This is kinda how our world feels lately. Can you say......cccooooolllllddddddd !!!

Pop over to Lisa's site and see some of the other entries. This is going to be fun!

Happy Wednesday!

Beautiful shots, Wanda. You're right...the B&W really makes me feel the COLD...I'm shivering right here (well it IS 20 degrees here so that isn't too much of a stretch!)

The Black and Whites would go so perfectly with your decor...do I see a wall of fame at your place in the future as well?

What fun! I have missed FAshion Fridays and am in no way organized enough to do the 360 challenge.
Thanks for the heads up.
And now... regarding your pics...WOW! Georgous and SOOO cold.
Guess I need to stop complaining about our wimpy 20 degree weather down here in Florida.
Stay warm, chica!

You have a keen eye for capturing the raw beauty of something.....gorgeous photos!

I did a B & W Wed. once all on my own, but generally my black & whites only become so after editing :) I wish I had the technique and equipment to begin that way too!

Black & whites are so timeless.....

Both you & Lisa have inpired me.....you often do! I hope a bit of heat creeps into your area and I look forward to seeing more Wed. B & W's!!

Hugs!!

Hi, I'm Wanda. I am a happy woman, wife to Danny for...oh....lots a years and finally Mom to THE most adorable little girl from Hunan, China - Dahlia. And now we have been blessed again with another daughter, Milana, from Zhejiang, China. (The 2 best things I've ever done!) We live in the Montreal area. After a loooonnngg wait for Dahlia's little sister Milana (pronounced - Mee-lana, like banana), we finally brought her home in August 2009. Dahlia came to us in Nov 2004 (at 20 months of age)and a year later we began the application for another baby - at the time the waiting period was around 8 months. Almost 4 years later (say what!?!)we, at last, brought Milana home. This began as the story of our journey to bring Milana home and life with her big sister, Dahlia. It now continues as we live as a family of four!
God. My (growing) family. Hangin' out with my girlies. My wonderful friends (you know who you are!). To laugh (out loud and a lot!). Music. Painting. Hugs. Long chats with my buds. My garden. To read (ha...when I can!). Sunshine. Spring, Spring and more Spring. Building things. Cooking. Decorating. Parties (ahem). The internet. Life. Movies. A.I. Dancing with the stars. So you think you can dance. Travel. Umm..did I say laughing my head off. Oh Gee...everything actually!!
