Tuesday......Around the World.

D4 Test 446

A few days ago, I got my hot little hands on the new Nikon D4. Which is the equivalent of "nirvana" to a photographer.
D4 Test 032

So, I had to try it out....Dahlia had the day off from school and though the clouds were rolling in....we headed to our little park around the corner.
D4 Test 220

You might think that I direct her, suggest props and coax her into these poses....but I really don't. I just have one mantra. "Relax your mouth". That's all I ever say....the rest is pure Dahlia.

D4 Test 090
I laugh every time I remember how she used to growl at me as a toddler, whenever I would bring out my camera. I really had to work hard to get a decent picture.
D4 Test 457
D4 Test 416

D4 Test 528
Yes.....that would be me in the garden globe. I little souvenir of working with such an amazing camera.
D4 Test 252
My goal this year is to get the new Nikon D800 but after getting to play around with the D4.......well....it's like a Ferrari. Anything less is.......just less.

D4 Test 357

However.....I'll still work for the D800. And be very grateful when I get it. (My motto has always been - never own anything you can't afford to replace.)
D4 Test 461 D4 Test 204
So...back to Dahlia. She can look so mature and serious one minute and then becomes my crazy little girl the next.

D4 Test 300 D4 Test 049 D4 Test 073
I just love all the different sides that make up my Dahlia Grace.

Wanda...SWOON...D4...SWOON...oh, how I see the depth of what you can do with that amazing camera....it really is indescribable, isn't' it. I am so thrilled that you had the chance to take this Ferrari out for a test drive..and I have a feeling that once your sights are set, well, they are SET!.

Dahlia is growing before our eyes. Your baby girl is much more teen than tween. I love all her expressions and the poses...she's been watching her glamourous Mama so its no wonder she knows exactly how to "work it".

Beautiful Beautiful images, my friend.

Can't wait to hear about your weekend escapades with Mr. D4 rockin the shots

Wanda, she is growing up so fast!!

Can I say jealous? I would so love to get my hands on a D4. :) I did have a chance to try out the Canon 5D this weekend and I am in love, even though I feel a tad disloyal to my Nikon.

You have one INCREDIBLE little model...wow!! Had to laugh because I say exactly what you do to Grace and sometimes other children I photograph, "relax your mouth."

Well the D4 is one incredible camera...would love to try one too someday. The depth of color in these images is amazing!!!

Our girls are growing up way too fast I think. sigh.

hugs,
Gail

Hi, I'm Wanda. I am a happy woman, wife to Danny for...oh....lots a years and finally Mom to THE most adorable little girl from Hunan, China - Dahlia. And now we have been blessed again with another daughter, Milana, from Zhejiang, China. (The 2 best things I've ever done!) We live in the Montreal area. After a loooonnngg wait for Dahlia's little sister Milana (pronounced - Mee-lana, like banana), we finally brought her home in August 2009. Dahlia came to us in Nov 2004 (at 20 months of age)and a year later we began the application for another baby - at the time the waiting period was around 8 months. Almost 4 years later (say what!?!)we, at last, brought Milana home. This began as the story of our journey to bring Milana home and life with her big sister, Dahlia. It now continues as we live as a family of four!
God. My (growing) family. Hangin' out with my girlies. My wonderful friends (you know who you are!). To laugh (out loud and a lot!). Music. Painting. Hugs. Long chats with my buds. My garden. To read (ha...when I can!). Sunshine. Spring, Spring and more Spring. Building things. Cooking. Decorating. Parties (ahem). The internet. Life. Movies. A.I. Dancing with the stars. So you think you can dance. Travel. Umm..did I say laughing my head off. Oh Gee...everything actually!!
