Mommy.....did Santa come?

Zizi's job on Christmas Eve? = Watch for Santa!
Looks like someone was sleeping on the job!
Dahlia slept in our bed on Christmas eve, as our guests arrived a day early (yah!)
So her bedroom became the guest room.
This is Christmas morning.
Dahlia showing Milana how to slide on her bum. (So much faster, girl!)

Excited? Who....me?

Santa wrote Dahlia a letter, like every year.

Now, here is where I should have a million pictures of the kiddies ripping into their prezzies. No, I cannot join in that fun and hold a camera still too. So....I opted for the fun (and mayhem). With the addition of a 22 month old boy (my neices son) the joy and craziness factor augmented
big-time so I just tagged along for the ride.

Dahlia's two kitties. Zizi, of course and her newest - Miette - from the Three Muskateers. Interestingly, it was the only thing Dahlia kept asking for. Other than the 2009 Barbie doll which she said looked like me (yeah...I wish), that's all she wanted. She got a bit more but we did not go crazy this year.

No, really!

Time to get a bit of fresh air. Mom is waiting but maybe I'll tinkle the ivories first........

Are you coming?

Hmmm....Mom say's - good thing I'm cute!

And just to keep it real.......I present our very messy (but funfilled) family room.

....with their little cousin

...and cutie-petutie on her zebra.

...and my model....performing beautifully except for....

.....wardrobe?.......

....anybody?

See this sweet dress? It was Dahlia's back in 2004 for her first Christmas with us. I don't know how many times I looked at this dress, hanging in her closet, wondering if her little sister would ever get to wear it.

(same dress but with a little matching bolero.)

(ummm.....change of wardrobe.....we had a little accident....)

....but we're havin' fun!

A few favorite sweets I make every year. Wouldn't be Christmas without them.

....but nothing could be sweeter!

So happy to see and read that you had a wonderful Christmas!

Is that a portrait that you did of Milana that I saw peeking in the background in one of the pictures?

Such beautiful memories. So glad the kids had a great time on Christmas morning.

I too saw the portrait in the background. Would love to know where you had that made.

Those two are just precious! I know the feeling of seeing the younger one in the dress. I kept a ton of my now 14 year old's clothes and I absolutely love seeing the two little ones in them. It takes me back in time, if only for a moment! Time flies. Enjoy those little sweeties. Have a great day!

Buckeroomama and Love Letter to China,

The artist(of the portrait) is me. I did this painting a few months before we got Dahlia. She was what I envisioned Dahlia would look like but really she resembles Milana more.

You can see some more of my work on my web-site at www.ode2beauty.com

Thanks fo asking!

Cracking up over Dahlia's flying leaps at the bottom of the stairs! Just a blur of excitement! I love the closeup of Milana. Gorgeous. And that red dress is so yummy! I've kept every one of my girls dresses. For some weird reason, I can't give them away like I do all the other clothes.

Okay, what's that delicious looking yummy chocolate ball thingy? :)

Great pictures to put in the Christmas Past Album. So sweet that you saved the dress for sissy. They both wore it beautifully. I agree with your daughter thinking you look like Barbie. Our mothers are always beautiful in the eyes of our children. I don't think my kids are delusional, I have yet to be compared to a barbie doll. I'll settle for the lady at the cafeteria who serves up the peaches. Happy New Year.

Where to BEGIN! I've been AWOL a bit from the computer but I am hoping to be back in stride soon. I missed coming over to see these beauties and when I got here it felt like I was joining right in on the fun.
I love the shots of the kids coming down the stairs and Kitty looking over....the toys, the wardrobe.......(oh, the WARDROBE...you should have your own Kids' Couture Boutique!), the little piano! Wow.....and everything so meticulously matches the decor...EVEN YOU AND ZiZi!
The girls only get more gorgeous with every passing day.
We do a letter from Santa too and leave him some Cognac (mama uses that to help write the letter!) and cookies and carrots for Rudolph and the other reindeer.
Yep, you DO look like Barbie....no Doubt...but you're much sweeter!
Oh, and you BAKE and make CONFECTIONS? Wanda....is there anything that you can't do?

Looks like an amazing holiday was had by all!

Happy New Year!

Hi, I'm Wanda. I am a happy woman, wife to Danny for...oh....lots a years and finally Mom to THE most adorable little girl from Hunan, China - Dahlia. And now we have been blessed again with another daughter, Milana, from Zhejiang, China. (The 2 best things I've ever done!) We live in the Montreal area. After a loooonnngg wait for Dahlia's little sister Milana (pronounced - Mee-lana, like banana), we finally brought her home in August 2009. Dahlia came to us in Nov 2004 (at 20 months of age)and a year later we began the application for another baby - at the time the waiting period was around 8 months. Almost 4 years later (say what!?!)we, at last, brought Milana home. This began as the story of our journey to bring Milana home and life with her big sister, Dahlia. It now continues as we live as a family of four!
God. My (growing) family. Hangin' out with my girlies. My wonderful friends (you know who you are!). To laugh (out loud and a lot!). Music. Painting. Hugs. Long chats with my buds. My garden. To read (ha...when I can!). Sunshine. Spring, Spring and more Spring. Building things. Cooking. Decorating. Parties (ahem). The internet. Life. Movies. A.I. Dancing with the stars. So you think you can dance. Travel. Umm..did I say laughing my head off. Oh Gee...everything actually!!
