Day Two - Survivor

We are surviving – not yet thriving. We all slept fairly well last night and got out for a walk this morning. Finally started Milana on some medication and hoping it will do the trick. Danny is typing this as I try to get this tincture into her. Dahlia is enjoying her new role as big sister more and more.

Hangzhou is incredibly beautiful. It has not yet been decided when we will travel south to Wenzhou as the roads have been affected by the typhoon. We will just have to see how this works out.

So… how are you all doing? (Had to say that … it makes me feel like everything is normal and well with the world. Thanks.)

Later.

Hello you guys!!!Love the pic of mom and dad with your two girls! I hope you are well and glad to hear you had a good night's sleep. My prayers are with you four that the balance of your trip goes smooth. Can't wait to hear that your family and Helen's reunite and ultimately that all of you return to home turf all safe and sound. My thoughts are with you, hugs and kisses and keep posting. It's what keeps us going as well. Counting the days....xoxoxo Sophie

LOVE LOVE the family of 4 shot....and even better I am happy to hear that small steps are being made! For so many of us the transition is one of tiny steps initially(i.e. progress) and huge leaps later down the road!

I could see how high the water is in that photo...I hope the effects of the typhoon are minimal and that your trip can proceed as planned.

Thinking of you all......and we are all well & fine...thanks for asking!! :)
Hugs, Lisa

I hope they will let you go without going back to the orphanage. It seems like such a long way for those little ones over ground that has become dangerous due to nature's fury.

It will be so much better in just a few days (especially after Milana is feeling better :) LOVE the photo - makes me homesick for beautiful Hangzhou! Enjoy your time there - I stayed in the room with our scared little Tia for her naps but in retrospect she might have been fine napping in the stroller, and I would have seen more of West Lake!

Beautiful family photo!

We visited Hangzhou last year when we vacationed in China. It was one of our favorite places.

Hugs to you all! Keep these stories and pics coming!

We are thinking of you and praying for you all daily.

I bet that you will soon be seeing a glimpse of Milana's true self emerging. Oh what a beacon that will be I bet!

How wonderful it is to see you, as a family of four!

Much love and many prayers from home.

Hi, I'm Wanda. I am a happy woman, wife to Danny for...oh....lots a years and finally Mom to THE most adorable little girl from Hunan, China - Dahlia. And now we have been blessed again with another daughter, Milana, from Zhejiang, China. (The 2 best things I've ever done!) We live in the Montreal area. After a loooonnngg wait for Dahlia's little sister Milana (pronounced - Mee-lana, like banana), we finally brought her home in August 2009. Dahlia came to us in Nov 2004 (at 20 months of age)and a year later we began the application for another baby - at the time the waiting period was around 8 months. Almost 4 years later (say what!?!)we, at last, brought Milana home. This began as the story of our journey to bring Milana home and life with her big sister, Dahlia. It now continues as we live as a family of four!
God. My (growing) family. Hangin' out with my girlies. My wonderful friends (you know who you are!). To laugh (out loud and a lot!). Music. Painting. Hugs. Long chats with my buds. My garden. To read (ha...when I can!). Sunshine. Spring, Spring and more Spring. Building things. Cooking. Decorating. Parties (ahem). The internet. Life. Movies. A.I. Dancing with the stars. So you think you can dance. Travel. Umm..did I say laughing my head off. Oh Gee...everything actually!!
