Black and White Wednesday

the long road

It's Wednesday again and time to play around with some black and white conversions.

But first....in honor of March 17th and good ol St Paddy, I had to post a little green. These are some massive lotus leaves in Hangzhou, China from our trip last August.

Can't you imagine a little green leprechaun, popping his little capped head over the side of this leaf?!

This week my muse was at it again. Sometimes I wonder what she is thinking about when she stares at me like this. I'm crazy about the contours of her face as well as the quirky cuteness of her personality.

I agree with you about the contours of Dahlia's face...they are stunning and they seem to capture the light from so many angles. She is a true classic beauty.

If you did post that picture of Milana's official adoption day I didn't see it. I just love seeing images of the 4 of you. You are truly a stunning family. Danny has such beauty all around him every day!

Happy St. Patty's Day, my Friend from the North!

What a beautiful face, made for having her picture taken...what else can you do, ha ha :) Love the photos, as always. Your family is beautiful. I really like the one of your daughter 'dancing' by the fountain too...my favorite!

WOW! What a beauty she is...All the pictures are just gorgeous. In black and white her check bones really pop out. She is a classic beauty for sure.

I love the GREEN!

Shoot! I'm an Irish Catholic and didn't even think of adding something green to my post...not even a Happy St. Paddy Day from me...Oh! Well!

Happy St. Paddy Day to you!

Now you have me wondering...What does happen in June to bring on all these March babies...Maybe it is the hot summer nights. ;)

Irish blessings coming your way from one Mama with just a dash of the "Irish" to another! :)

And have we not already been blessed beyond measure? Gosh....we didn't even need to kiss a blarney stone! :)

I sure hope next week I can play along again...until then, I can live vicariously through all of you! You are my first stop and probably last until the chicks are in bed!

And yes, she's so lovely her expression seem more dramatic in B&W. Love the green you added in too ~ inspired!

But my fave this time? That momentous moment captured as a new family....gorgeous one and all!

Hugs!

Those are great! I can totally imagine a little man popping out of those leaves :)

My favorites are of her dancing in front of the fountain and the close up of the puckered up lips!

Beautiful pictures! Those first four were so fun, such an expressive little face! All the China pictures you post make me want to travel there myself someday—what a rich culture and tradition!

I always love the China photos you post.

And Happy Saint Patrick's Day! I have to tell you... the Tongginator was SO funny yesterday. She said, "So... Mom... explain to me how I'm Irish again? That doesn't make sense to me." (I've never said she was Irish, but the husband's family IS Irish, so she is definitely growing up with Irish culture.) Heh.

Hi, I'm Wanda. I am a happy woman, wife to Danny for...oh....lots a years and finally Mom to THE most adorable little girl from Hunan, China - Dahlia. And now we have been blessed again with another daughter, Milana, from Zhejiang, China. (The 2 best things I've ever done!) We live in the Montreal area. After a loooonnngg wait for Dahlia's little sister Milana (pronounced - Mee-lana, like banana), we finally brought her home in August 2009. Dahlia came to us in Nov 2004 (at 20 months of age)and a year later we began the application for another baby - at the time the waiting period was around 8 months. Almost 4 years later (say what!?!)we, at last, brought Milana home. This began as the story of our journey to bring Milana home and life with her big sister, Dahlia. It now continues as we live as a family of four!
God. My (growing) family. Hangin' out with my girlies. My wonderful friends (you know who you are!). To laugh (out loud and a lot!). Music. Painting. Hugs. Long chats with my buds. My garden. To read (ha...when I can!). Sunshine. Spring, Spring and more Spring. Building things. Cooking. Decorating. Parties (ahem). The internet. Life. Movies. A.I. Dancing with the stars. So you think you can dance. Travel. Umm..did I say laughing my head off. Oh Gee...everything actually!!
